so i was trying to pull a large mobile home type thing up a steep hill with my 1 ton ford pickup, and then all of a sudden, it wouldnt go. it appears that it suddenly lost most, if not all of the transmission fluid from down by the torque converter. can i just add some tranny-stop-leak or something to make it all better?

Too much internal pressure from overloading has blown out something. If fluid is coming from the flywheel housing it is the front seal or torque converter hub. It would be best at this point to have it torn down and rebuilt.

if its an E40D, there is a flaw. if you tow in overdrivethe fluid overheats and burns up the tranny. i work in an rv shop and see dozens of these a year. you need a rebuild
