Yes I have watched the 2001 film 'Black Hawk Down' directed by Ridley Scott twice, and I have read author Mark Bowden's book of the same name twice. I admired the film, since there are very few combat films made where a battle is the entire focus of the film, and the movie doesn't hit one over the head with same old (and very tiring) "anti-war" messages.
If you have the time, you should definitely read the book as you will get a much better idea of how the Rangers plan and execute their missions.

Yes, have seen the movie several times. I own it on DVD. I have also read the book by Mark Bowden. Excellent book. I was in the Army during the time this happened. It hit close to home for me. I still feel for the families of the troops lost in this tragedy.

I was pretty impressed how close the movie interpreted the action that happened during that operation. Good movie, and something everyone should see that has any interest in finding out what combat is like in this day and age.

Saw it twice in the theatre. Excellent. Made me cry. I felt it should have won the Oscar for Best Picture that year.
