Honey, I feel you. I was in the hospital for 4 hours yesterday, I have been having contractions since sunday morning and they still have not stopped. They sent me home when my contractions were 6 minutes apart and I was 5 cm dilated because that is what my doctor thought would be best. Today, after my husband gets home from work, we are going to the mall to go for a walk. (I live in MN and it is way to cold to go walking outside). My doctor did tell me that she would consider breaking my water on Thursday if I am still having contractions but my cervix is not any farther along. She is the one that told me to go for the walk to try to get things shaking. So try walking for a good long while. If you are like me, your hips will kill later but it will be worth it if you have the baby! Best of luck to you and know you are not alone :)

Usually contractions start a few days before anyway but they may be irregular. Once your contractions come 5 to 3 min apart then go back to the hospital. In the mean time walk as much as you can this really helps ALOT! If your water still hasn't broke it seems like they would break it for you at the hospital, this really gets the contractions going and pushes the baby down. Next time you go the the hospital tell them to break your water i wouldn't think it was safe to be walking around like that too much longer.

Be patient, monitor your contraction and walk. If your water does break, go to the hospital.

With both my pregnancies I was 3 cm dilated and having some pretty nasty Braxton Hicks contractions at my check up 3 weeks before I delivered!! I thought I was going to be pregnant forever!

Congrats on your new baby and hang in there. The reward is worth 1000 times what you are going through now.

Walk alot. The pressure and the movement will encourage the baby to drop more and press against the cervix and cause it to efface and dialate.

Using your breast pump for a couple hours a few times a day can do wonders too. It encourages more productive contractions.

either walk around or have sex that always makes your contractions stronger. And if that doesn't work I would asked to be induced after 3 days of being in labor I would have done it way before. I was in labor for 28 hours and 10 of them were intense there is nothing wrong with asking about being induced!! I am kind of surprised they haven't broken your water yet! Good Luck and Congratulations!!!

I was in labor for 21 days before they induced me. I was 6 cm d and 100% e. when they sent me home. It's called inactive labor because the baby is not in the birth canal. It may go on for days...try walking around to help the baby drop!!!!!

My checklist says i'm basically 1cm and 40% effaced, so no longer a lot has been going on there the two. he's making me choose for an amniocentesis on Wed and then will come to a decision while to bring about. i became into purely hoping issues could go a sprint greater certainly. on the greater effective ingredient, i do no longer think of there have been any pregnant women people accessible who on no account went into exertions, it purely did no longer happen as early as predicted. For my first baby, I labored so long that at the end they had to

cut (episiotomy) and get the baby out. Don't let them do that

unless absolutely necessay. I went to a different dr. for the

second baby, and he didn't do the cutting. The problem is

afterwards, with an episiotomy you aren't going to want to

have sex for a LONG time.

Unfortunetly, you just have to wait. You can be 3-4 cm for a month but I don't know how many weeks you are...but don't worry it won't be forever...that baby will have to come out soon or later...good luck and congrats!
