I have several years of retail store management, and a few years in retail sales too.. Certainly I'm more qualified than most others that would apply. Do I need to have tons of product knowledge like a fashion designer?
Will they probably perfer to not hire me because I am a man?

Actually, the fact that you are a man could work in your favor. If you have the appropriate management skills and experience, and have a real interest, I'd suggest applying for the job. Of course be prepared during the interview for the questions...."Why do you want to work for Victoria Secret"? Also, as with any job, be certain that you have the appropriate level of company knowledge and prepare yourself for the interview. Go for it, and Good Luck!

i think the retail experience should be enough, unless the manager is the buyer also,,,,,, if you are the buyer for the store, not likely,,, then yes you would need specific fashion knowledge, i dont think nowdays gender plays a big role

Uh, why don't you ask Victoria's Secret? It sounds to me like you are too ignorant to manage anything at all.

you should try on everything--even if you are a man....then you know how things feel so that you can explain to the women how the furry or silky stuff feels on the chest and lower region.
