Why is commitment such a big problem for most of us (men)? I think that, for some reason, when a man is driving down that freeway of love, the woman he's involved with is like an exit. But he doesn't want to get out, he want's to keep driving. And the woman is like, "Look, gas, food, lodging, that's our exit, that's everything we need to be happy, get out, here, now!" But the man is focusing on the sign underneath. It says, "Next exit, twenty-seven miles." And he thinks, "I can make it!"

That is probably the best analogy of the male dating mind I've ever heard! It's kind of the same way in nature if you really think about it. Males are always looking for the prime example of their species. Even when males find a mate, they are constantly wondering if there is a better example out there that they can continue the species with. You see it all the time in the animal kingdom. Especially when a man already has the basics down (food, shelter, clothing), the only basic instinctual need left is to procreate. I'm not calling men animals, but maybe that part of a guy is just dominated by the primitive/animal brain instead of the modern more conscious one.
