There's a good theory about extra-terrestrial life out there.
If ETs exist, why haven't we seen them or something from them? When I say see them, I mean an Alien saying "Hey, what's up?" on Fox news or a non-natural object floating around in nearby space. There are several fundamental problems.
Let's say we create a robot that can travel in space and self replicate by mining asteroids and the such (Our technology isn't that far off.) Our little robot would travel to the nearest star, self replicate, explore the system, then send copies of itself off to other nearby stars. It would only take a million or so years to explore the entire galaxy that way. Since our galaxy is about 5 to 10 billion years old, why haven't we seen any of these robots floating around?
The only explanation I can come up with is that we're the first technological civilization at least in our own galaxy. Even if another civilization existed and ended, they would still have explorer robots. Even if 99% of the explorer robots fell into stars, black holes, or malfunctioned, the rest would be able to replicate themselves very quickly and start to re-explore.
I suppose you could say that a civilization may not send out robot explorers because there really is no point. After all by the time those little robots made any progress the civilization would probably be dead and gone, much less the actual creators. Or you could say that maybe the robot explorers were designed to self destruct if they found another civilization. Or, maybe the universe hasn't been stable enough to support life until now. Or, etc... but as Hokum says, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.
Do UFOs exist? Sure they do, and Unidentified Flying Object could be a military airplane or a weather balloon. It's just an object that's unidentified.
Do intelligent "ETs" exist? I think there's a pretty good chance we're either alone or VERY VERY far away (like other side of the universe, far away).

A UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object. So, when someone sees something unidentifiable in the sky, they have seen a UFO. Therefore, UFOs are reality.
What you meant to ask is, "Are UFOs spacecraft from other worlds?"
So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.
Why haven't we heard from them?
Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.
Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.
Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.
Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.
Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.
It is really impossible to know for sure.
The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

Definitely a reality. If you would like a reality update, try the History Channel. Specials on Bermuda Triangle, and the Dragon's Triangle, and UFOs in general.
While on military operations, date and location cannot be revealed, at about 02:00 hundred hours Zulu time, one of our lookouts, who was a commissioned officer, reported sighting a flying object with full array of lighting, making maneuvers and suddenly dove straight into the ocean and disappeared.
Our CIC (Combat Information Center), checked for any military or civilian aircraft known to be operating in the area, and there were none. The log entry was recorded as a UFO sighting.
Were talking Hard Core Reality here!

A UFO or Unidentified Flying Object is any real or apparent flying object which cannot be identified by the observer and which remains unidentified after investigation.
Sightings of unusual aerial phenomena date back to ancient times, but reports of UFO sightings started becoming more common after the first widely publicized U.S. sighting in 1947. Many tens of thousands of such claimed observations have since been reported worldwide, and it is very likely many more go unreported due to fear of public ridicule because of the Social stigma created around the UFO topic.
In popular culture throughout the world, UFO is commonly used to refer to any hypothetical alien spacecraft but the term flying saucer is also regularly used. Once a UFO is identified as a known object (for example an aircraft or weather balloon), it ceases to be a UFO and becomes an identified object. In such cases it is inaccurate to continue to use the acronym UFO to describe the object
Besides visual sightings, cases sometimes have alleged associated direct or indirect physical evidence, including many cases studied by the military and various government agencies of different countries. Indirect physical evidence would be data obtained from afar, such as radar contact and photographs. More direct physical evidence involves physical interactions with the environment at close range—Hynek's "close encounter" or Vallee's "Type-I" cases—which include "landing traces," electromagnetic interference, and physiological/biological effects.
Some of these cases have been shown to be deliberate hoaxes. Others have been shown to be explainable as natural or manmade phenomena. The remaining fraction have been labeled unidentified or unexplainable. Analyses of such cases have results that are usually ambiguous or inconclusive.

Flying saucers were invented by the Nazis in the last days of the war. The factory was captured by the Russians. They got the jump on the US in that branch of technology. Flying saucers are built by Skoda and piloted by Russians. Something that mundane cannot be invented.
