Robert Gates, the White House choice to be the next defense secretary, conceded Tuesday that the United States is not winning the war in Iraq and warned that if that country is not stabilized in the next year or two it could lead to a "regional conflagration."

well.. he did say COULD... and i would agree that it could.... so to help prevent that why don't we all start working together on a solution instead of butting heads about our differences of opinion on Iraq? :)

Right now there's really no way to tell for sure if that would happen, but it is certainly more likely to happen than peace in the region.

Sorry, no expert analysis here since this is all just speculation and cautious hypotheses by everyone at this point.
