Love is emotion, desire, attraction, attachment, and so much more.
Love has varieties, different types that is.
You can love your pet, a favorite food, your children, your spouse, God.
I define the meaning of love as any attachment either conditional or unconditional, that brings great joy and peace.
I did a self-study paper on love.
It is a wonderful topic.
Love is one of the most difficult things to explain or define because it always goes beyond words or expression.
Love is watching your child graduate.
Love is when you get butterflies in your stomach from just being near someone.
Love is when you miss your Mom no matter how old you are.
Love is what brings and keeps us together.
We need more love in the world.
Love is all you need!!

Peace, joy, and love.

The word "Love" is an abstract word which just means that it has different meanings for different people. Generally speaking though, love is defined in three parts. First love is an affection toward another based on personal ties or being related. Next, love is an attraction based on sexual desire and last, Love is an affection toward another based on admiration. These explanations should tell you why Love is an abstract word. To me none of these things comes close to describing the love I feel for my girlfriend, how about you? Hope this helps.

Love is an action that you put into action. Love in a spiritual way comes from God and his love fills the heart of the one who believes. I had searched for love in others and always came up empty until I found that there is love in a God who loves me for me.

I found that the love that comes from God enables me to love others unconditionally. Love to me isn't about mushy gushy things or getting something from someone even though those are things that can also be expressed lovingly.

There have been times in my life where I didn't feel all that loving towards others because of hurts in my life. I have been learning to forgive and learn from my mistakes.

I have always felt that beyond some of the painful things I have experienced was always love reaching out to me in the way of God because I had searched every where for him and found him when I came to the end of my self.

I can't argue or debate about it. I just know that this is what's been true for me and for others who believe.

Love? Its the unanswerable question. Its that feeling of wanting to give up everything else just to have it. Its the thing you can't do without, the one thing you'll search all your life to have. Websters defines it this way.....
1 a (1) : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties (2) : attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers (3) : affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests b : an assurance of love
plus 23 other definitons! Personally, I don't try to define, just revel in it! Thanks for asking, good question!

Love has many faces, watch a mother holding her new born child the softness of her face and the expanding pupils of hers eyes, the fixation of pure love.
Watch a man and woman holding each other so close their bodies burn with desire.
Watch a couple who have loved each other all their lives, just being to-gether.
Watch a dog with a kind master, the dog will not leave his side.

We do not need to define love, we know it when it is here.

Different things to different people.

When parents say 'I love you' to their child, they mean that they will do what ever they can to better the life of the child

When a child says 'I love you to a parent' they mean 'I trust you'; 'I respect you', 'my life is in your hands'.

Most philosophers say that love is best when reciprocated, but it cannot be. The child cannot better the life of the parent, nor can the parent put their life in their child's hands (at least not until old age forces a role reversal).

Love is giving of one's self to the beloved solely for the benefit of the beloved. It is not camaraderie. It is not a mushy feeling. It is not a give and take. It is not an equal partnership. Love is selfless. Love is a responsibility.

Any good mother will tell you, that their feelings of love for their children are not comparable to the feelings they have for their man. That is because, the love of the woman to her man is a trusting and respecting love, while the love for her children is the giving, nurturing and protecting responsibility.

When a man takes on a woman, it is natural for him to give of himself and take a responsibility for the welfare of his woman and her family. Almost all the strife in relationships today stem from the doctrine that love should be equally reciprocated. Men look to their women to find evidence of the same love that he gives to her, and become disheartened, frustrated and insulted when they find that it isn't there. They withhold their provision to see if they can get the same love they've been giving. Games are played and lost. Lives are destroyed for the sake of misunderstanding.

When I have put my views forward before, many have taken my view as a disrespect of women. I just wish to assure you, that the main difference between men and women comes from testosterone. Testosterone makes men aggressive and stupid. It is my feeling that women are smarter then men, but often lack the aggression to attack problems and work them out (due to their lack of testosterone). I mean no disrespect of women, but I am quite certain that gender differences are very real and we do damage to both genders when the differences are not recognized.

personally speaking, when i fell in love with my present wife the symptoms where much like having the flu.
and that love is not a gooey feeling but an actual act of doing something for her regardless of how or the emotion cost.
i think that i must be the luckiest man alive married to her.

Love is an unconditional feeling. Usually, people just can't reason it out. You'll know that you are in love if you start doing things that you normally will not do for/with someone ; without any intention. Apparently, you'll just feel happy doing things for/with this someone. It's abstract.

You don't even have to think about it if you are actually in love. You just know. You feel completely and utterly comfortable sharing and experiencing everything with that one person and can look into the future and be able to picture it with them. When you can completely trust someone, when they're your bestest friend in the whole world, and your only confident. That's love.
