Its viewed as a sin because God gave you life and only he can take it away. And there is no such thing as a useless life - everyone can change their lives and make them more productive and useful.

Commiting suicide is a sin, one because it is illegal, and breaking the law is a sin, and two, because it is a sin against God to take your own life. I am curious, who told you that one was worse than the other? By the way, whether you would like to admit it or not, there is no such thing as a useless life. Somewhere someone is watching what you do, hearing what you say, finding out what you think, etc. and they are learning from it. Even in suicide you are teaching someone something. Every life has meaning and uses. Some lives have use and meaning because of their life, other lives have use and meaning in spite of their life. If anyone ever contimplates suicide, what the need to do is stop living and thinking selfishly, and lose themselves in helping others.

i want to tell you that you are not useless and neither is your life. it is bad to commit suicide because you are not giving god a chance to show you what you were put on this earth for. In my personal opinion no sin is worse then the other. you shouldnt live a useless life but no one is truly useless there is something for everyone to do in this world

i have a friend who says "when life's become unbearable, suicide is the only option". Hahaha....i like to show myself that i'm strong, and what better way to show you're strong than passing with flying colors life's tests?

Nobody lives a useless life, some of us are examples (good or bad ones), some of us are inspiration, some of us are still learning....

The Catholic church released a statement a few years ago, saying that it doesn't condemn suicide any more, since ppl who commit it, are not themselves the moment they do it.

So you see, the only sin ppl with useless lives are commiting is not making a good life out of what they have.

"If life gives you lemons, ask for a shot of tequila, and CHEERS!!!"

Taking your own life is a sin which will prevent you from entering heaven. On the other hand, having a useless life is not a sin and most americans have the same problem. It is up to you to figure out what you want out of life. After all, you only live once ....

I would say suicide is a sin because it is murder. When you become suicidal you are thinking only of yourself. Its easy to do, but still wrong. There are no useless lives. Everyone was created for a reason.

It's not more sinful. You can choose to live a useful life and choose not to commit suicide. Sin always has a choice involved.

This question leads to dangerous effects.
Can you imagine a human being feels that his life is useless (life full of unjustice, disguised slavery, irrogance, hypocatism), then he decide to commit suicide killing with him some easy targets to draw attention.
I hope you will think a lot and try to make the people around you more reasonable, more modest, more cheerfull).

Suicide is not being personally responsible for your choices and actions. A wasted life is a wasted life both are the same one just takes longer to come to the same end. It is a matter of time and space of which neither exist. It is the intent with which you live you life that is of importance. Neither is wrong. As we are given freewill of choice it is that it just takes longer to achieve the goal of why we are here.
