The answer has been told to you but here is a little more info

After you beat the Main Story line you will still be a Pokemon and natural disasters are still occurring everywhere...

New Friend Areas are available
New Dungeons are opened
New Items and secrets to be found

Plus you get to evolve your Pokemon! :)
