Everything is probably normal.... but may be wise to see doc and have smear . They may even put you on transexamic acid tabs, which reduce the amount of pain and blood loss. But go see doc to be on safe side be safe not sorry. mooxxxxxxxx

OUCH. cramps! periods. No fun at all!!
Sometimes blood clots are kinda normal during a period, as well as cramps, and back achs, and all sourts of unfun pain.
If the pain is unbearable, I would suggest visiting a "lady doctor." If you believe in birth control (Which some people do not, considering its terrible side effects), birth control sometimes helps to minimize the PMS symptoms.
A hot bath also helps with the pain.
If it is anything unusual (espically with the blood clots) I would really consider going to see a doctor.

It could mean alot of things. One of the most common things it could be is Uterine Fibroids. These can cause pain and very heavy clots. Depending on the size and amount of bleeding they usually do surgery to remove them. If the bleeding and clotting get worse, they can cause really bad anemia.
So just tell her to go to the doctor if she is really uncomfortable with the problem. She will probably need an ultrasound.

Like everybody says (well most people) it is very normal, some people get cramps that are so bad they are resticted to bed for 7 days out of 28!!
Try placing a hot water bottle on you abdomen and also eat plenty of fresh fruit & veg. It works for me and it beats filling your body with chemical solutoins that don't always work.
You can also do some moderate exercise...suprisingly that really helps.

Uterine fibroids are usually not dangerous, but can cause immense discomfort and lead to complications like anemia from heavy blood loss. In rare cases, they may cause complications that affect pregnancy.
In cases where there are no symptoms, treatment may not be necessary. However, proper diagnosis and treatment may be required if your symptoms are severe or causing complications. Along with conventional treatment, you can try some natural home remedies. Read here https://tr.im/xInGP

If it is really severe it could be a sign of endometriosis. Your ex should see a doc or nurse if she is worried. There is a great book called 'Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition' by Marilyn Shannon (available from www.ccli.org/store) which I think your ex could benefit from reading.

It could be peri-menopause. It could also be fibroids or tumors. Another possibility is a spontaneous abortion (any time you miscarry in the first trimester, medically it is termed a spontaneous abortion). You might also have a sexually transmitted disease. It's always best to have your symptoms checked out with a qualified physician.

If it is heavy clots...it could possibly be the remains of a miscarriage.
