My girlfriend and i have been dating for 4 years, we have lived together for 2 of those 4. It has been a long distance relationship at times as she lives in Germany and i in America. I lived over there for 2 years with her but because of work i moved to Florida. She just returned to Germany after 3 months with me in the states. I love her dearly and have planned to aske her to marry me in December when she will visit America for Christmas. I am 24 and she is 23. My plan to get married would be in at least the following year. Everyone seems to have a different opinoin. Is it too soon, or should i go with my heart and ask her?

Go with your heart and ask her, it's not too soon at all. My husband and I started dating 4 years ago. He just returned from his second tour in Iraq... so he's been gone 2 of those 4 years. I feared it might be too soon but it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck!!

Sounds like a very strong relationship. She will say yes; just have the ring ready (go with gold and platinum with an extremely clear stone) and be confident . Immigration might take a while, however. But, I think America's Immigration policy with Germany is far more relaxed than with, say, China. I think you will be allowed live together in the States once you are married, which will make the immigration process far more bearable.
Instinct tells me you come from a well-to-do background; that will make everything easier.

Don't ask us. This is your relationship and only you cna judge if you think you are ready for marriage. 4 years is a long time and you 2 will have alot of big decisions to make together besides wedding plans, like were to live. Follow your heart and pray for the strength you need to make a huge choice. Good Luck.

If the bond between you is strong enough to last through marriage, then go for it! Just keep in mind that a wedding could take some time to plan, and both people in a marriage have to work together!

go with your heart if you love her go for it,sometimes if you listen to other people your chance will leave you.but you know a long distance relationship hardly ever works. I am sure you will have to consider she is from germany make sure she gets to home and visit quiet often telling her this and showing how much you care about her feelings about her family also and i am sure if she loves you she will agree to your proposal.......good luck. I am with a guy from another country and he goes home once a year to be with his family for a month and that makes him very happy......

well pal you should follow your heart on that matter.a relationship cant be measure in how long or how many obstacle you been through,it's about your feelings for her,a decision of a person to be with her forever,a decision of giving&showing how much your loved her...If you say that she will be warm and secure that you are the special person,a destiny to be combine with her in heart&soul forever.

It is not too soon..
2yrs. should be the limit for a person to be in an exclusive
relationship without setting a firm date for marriage...
Ask her when she comes over for Christmas...

I would follow your heart. It doesn't matter what other people say or what they think. This is about you and your future. Don't make this about anyone else. If you want to marry her then propose to her.

The right time is whenever you are ready and you think she is, whether it is 20 days or 20 years.
I wish you the best.

The right time is when you decide the time is right. From what you have posted, if you want to marry her, then ask her.
