I tried to look up hot ice on the Internet and I could not find anything. As far I'm concerned, its made up. I think they meant Dry Ice cause I did hear before that it could remove gum. Be careful not to touch the dry ice with your bare skin it could damage your nerves. That's for real!

The term is "dry Ice" and it is C02 (carbon dioxide). If you have a small fire extinguisher its most likely filled with dry ice and yes it will harden gum so as to make it brittle and crumbly so it is easy to remove. And it leaves no residue because it evaporates very quickly.

They are referring to "dry ice". I'm not sure if you can buy it in small quantities. Make sure you use gloves if you decide to use it. It will freeze the skin on touch.

Was cursing really necessary?

Why not ask just what is hot ice?

or

What in the world is hot ice?

I realize what you did is a mild form of cursing, but it still is cursing.
