What I would first check, make sure your connection is good. Hook the computer directly to your modem, by pass the router. If that works then we know it is with the router. Defently check the firewall like stated before and turn of any Norton or Mcafee or any other products like that. Also make sure your USB ports are working. Right click on my computer and go to properties then the Hardware tab the device manager at the bottom click the pluss beside universal serial bus controlers make sure there are no ? or ! marks on the one for your router it should say, also it may be labled as unknown device. Since you are usb you may need the install cd to make it work. ( Expecialy if there is a ? or !)
If all this checks out then I could call D link and have them help you. Most ISP will not work with routers. If the computer can connect when directly connected to the modem then the service is good it is something to do with the configuration of the router. You may need to get ports opened up. Also make sure this is the only computer hooked up to the router. Also if you can use Ethernet I would go with that. Ethernet is a plug and play device and works with no drivers, USB usually needs something to tell it what to do. You can also try a different USB port on the computer if you have one.

You probably have Windows XP. Windows XP comes standard with a personal firewall enabled. Click on the Start button and find Control Panel, then go to the Windows Firewall. Turn it "Off", and then close the Windows Firewall window.
Once this is complete, open Internet Explorer and try to connect to the Internet.
If this does not work, consider contacting your ISP to find out why you're not able to connect. It could be that there is a proxy you need to have set, or that something is not properly set up via your ISP.
Good luck!

All "Wireless Network connection now connected" means is that you are on your network. The problem lies in your modem or router and how they connect. Check that out. For example, when I turn off my modem so I don't have internet, I can still use my wireless network to print, access my servers, etc. but I have no Internet connection.

click on the network connection, and it will ask you for a password, this is to keep some one else from getting free internet from you if they have a wireless computer, they can be a thousand feet from you and you not know it, when your router page comes up it will guide you through the entire process, this protects you, however they will not be able to access your files, but the can access your network for free, so this protects you as well as your internet access.

I own 3 different kinds of Toshiba Satelites. The way I do it, is by setting up a "Static IP Address". You do this by going into your card options, and where it prompts you to put in your information, leave that on "Obtain Automatically", then click on the tab that says "Alternate Configuration" and put your information in there. Press OK, restart, and it should work.

If you have DSL connect your LAN line to the router, and the router to your laptop or computer. then turn on your modem wait for the lights to stop blinking. then turn on the router let it do it's think. then you may turn on your computer. it should work then. if not you can always go to the website on the router for HELP. I hope this helps you.

Have you entered your username/password credentials into your router?
(silly question usually, but many people don't do it)
