Recently I talked to a friend of mine and during our conversation he asked me if I had ADD. I was like, no, why? He said I was spacey, and showing some signs of it. He asked me about my birth control pills. I've been on bc for 10 years, and now I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Can these pills be causing me to be so hormonal I can't think straight? I have been to doctor thinking I had anxiety attacks and now I'm wondering if its all hormonal.

Mmm... if you've been on the pill for 10 years and are just now having these symptoms, I would say it's probably not the sole contributing factor. Some women are particularly sensitive to hormonal surges, and mental side effects to the b.c. pill are not unknown. But usually these things aren't "all" hormonal... there are often lifestyle or genetic components. Heck, it's winter... the changing seasons might be affecting you!

You might want to take notes and see if your mental state corresponds with your cycles. Then take that info to your doctor and see what they make of it.

Possibly. I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo too, and I found that it was harder for me to concentrate, I was very emotional and gained weight. It's possible it could be something else too , but I definitly wouldn't rule out the Birth Control

I would say, maybe you should try something different. I think it is kind of like PMSing all the time, hormones are powerful beyond our imaginations! I personally have tried the pill a few times and each time have felt that way too, along with weight gain and acne. Try going off of them for a while.

Definitely not. It may be your advancing age or some other factor. Do you do drugs? It could possisbly be a side effect of some heavy-duty drug use.
