Most influential person living in our times is the president of the united states, currently Bush. The United States has always been the "police force of the world". We are instrumental in setting policy for the whole world.
The most controversial right how would be the "president" of Iran.
He is a scary guy that has a Hitler mentality. If he has his chance to to the bomb, he will nuke first Israel and then begin to destroy the middle east and move on to Europe. He wants to bring about Armageddon. he thinks this will bring his "God" back and cause him to get his 70 virgins.
Be very afraid of Iran.

influence can be both positive and negative... so with that in mind i say Bush is the most influential.. which also makes him the most controversial... seeing as how much of his influence is negative. Another controversial world figure would be Saddam... almost everyone has an opinion about him and what should be done with him... and many people vary on what they think.
