Studies have also shown that consuming moderate amounts of alcohol during pregnancy may contribute to early miscarriage. That is why it's important to follow a simple rule: do not drink during pregnancy. If you enjoy alcoholic beverages try to replace them with their non-alcoholic counterparts.

The same rule should be followed for smoking. Women who smoke during pregnancy are more likely to have low-birthweight babies. Even before delivery, mothers who smoke have a greater chance of having a miscarriage, vaginal bleeding, or an ectopic pregnancy. Once the child is born, there is a higher likelihood of her having developmental issues like mental and behavioral problems.

There are a number of elements at play right here. First off you can not be four-6 weeks pregnant you may have slightly neglected your subsequent interval at might be 28 days. Pregnancy is counted on the first day of your final interval now not conseption. Second while ever an egg is published there's a kind of cyst that develops round your ovary to restrict your ovary from generating a different egg and causeing more than one pregnancies and that may rationale anguish. Third counting your being pregnant through weeks after your final cycle you must be round eight-10 weeks. Ectopic emergencies arise most of the time while the egg will get to the level that it will get giant ample to rupture the tube that's round 15 weeks however there's alway exceptions. If the anguish will get worse otherwise you begin bleeding don't hesitate to visit the medical institution, I might simply advise getting an ultrasound as quickly as feasible, if for no different purpose that to place your brain cozy. Family Planning and a few subject wellbeing models deliver unfastened extremely sounds in case your MD appointment is not for a different month. Also with how the anguish feels it's specific for every body, a few females suppose an ectopic earlier than it ruptures and a few do not suppose it till they've a significant trouble on their fingers.

My first pregnancy was unexpected. I didn't find out until 5+ weeks pregnant. During that time I smoked and had my one and only series of very bad binge drinking adventures whilst on holidays. I was beside myself with worry about the baby when I found out I was pregnant. But the doctor said that during the first weeks the baby (well the cells that make a baby) is very resilient and protected from most things. He said binge drinking in the first few weeks is nowhere near as bad as regular drinking actually. He also said there are many many adults around today who were results of alcholoic misadventures :) and not to worry. That baby is now 10 years old, healthy and happy. Its important to stop once you know you are pregnant of course. HTH

Smoking and drinking are both ill advised during any stage of pregnancy. Alcohol is particularly dangerous because it basically directly attacks the forming brain of the fetus.

However, take heart. Because you had a drink or two or a smoke before you realized you were pregnant does not mean that your baby is destined to be a retardo. However, the chances of severely damaging your child to be will increase significantly if you continue to regularly drink and smoke throughout your pregnancy.

that early in the pregnancy, it's an all-or-none event, meaning IF the smoking/drinking/etc affects the fetus, it will cause a miscarriage.

smoking, in general, throughout your pregnancy causes low-birth weight, increase risks for prematurity, and a million other things.

alcohol can cause fetal alcohol syndrome, which among many symptoms includes facial abnormalities and mental retardation.

talk to your ob/gyn or family doctor. they will be able to give you better answers and help you start taking care of that baby.

A lot of women smoke and/or drink before they even know they're pregnant - it's usually o.k. if you stop immediately, but you can still have problems as a result of it. Birth defects, low birth weight, developmental issues, FAS etc. Stop now and hope for the best.

i drank and smoked with my first, as did not know i was pregnant until late. he is a healthy strong smart little boy. i drank occasionally through my pregnancy and smoked cigarettes - could not quit on my own, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with him. in fact, the 4 women i was in hospital with also smoked - 4 healthy babies in one room. years ago women were advised to drink stout in pregnancy and smoking was not frowned upon - babies still turned out fine - there is a huge culture of puritanism in society these days that is suffocating and not essential. pregnant women need not be so damned precious! if u were in europe there would be more stigma if u did not drink wine in pregnancy. so realx, ure bub will be beautiful.

sometimes thsi cant be helped if you didnt knwo you were pregant .

If you didi know you were pregant, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Anyway, some people do continue to do thsi through out and they have healthy children.

Some people are not so lucky and have babies that result in miscarriage ,born prematurely, or with asthma, or heart problems , even birth defects.

You should immediately stop to give your child the best chance in life .

It should be fine, most women don't even find out quite that early, I know when I went to my first appointment at 8 weeks, the doctor asked about all that, I had drank before I found out I was pregnant, and he said it would be fine as long as I didnt continue.

Not so much unless you were binge drinking. A glass of wine would not likely have an impact but YOU MUST STOP both - if impossible to quit talk to your ob/gyn for support.
