If you are asking if lightning can make an oval shape in the sky, then yes. If you do an image search for lightning on Yahoo! then you will see many shapes lightning can make.

Lightning is still a pretty big mystery to us, we don't know much about it. Some scientist now believe that it actually comes from the earth, instead of the sky. And its caused by our sun.
