Seems to me that Cutler's debut was better than Elway's in 1983.
However, I don't think it is too early. Realistically, I think Shanahan knows they are not going to be attending Miami in February this season. By putting in Cutler now, he's putting a rookie in the middle of an already running machine...as opposed to opening day next year when everyone may not yet be on the same page.
I think it was a good move if you are looking at Super Bowls XLV and up.

I've never thought much of Plummer, even in college. He's not a bad QB but I don't think he'll ever be one of the best. Cutler has had one game. Cut him some slack. I lived in Denver during Elways early years. The fans used to call him Smelway and Elliemay. Most were calling for Kubiak to take his place. He wasn't great by any stretch. Did he end his career as one of the best ever? I'd say yes. Just give Cutler a few more games before calling for his head. Having said all this, I still think they should have stayed with Plummer the rest of the season. Cutler should have been the number one at the start of next season. I'm not a big fan of switching QB's in mid season if there's no injury.

Lets see how he does after his 2nd start...but if I were coaching...I would have gone with Plummer...he has not had a good year at all...but Jake is very inconsistent...he might catch fire and be dramatically improved over the 2nd half of the season.
I think this blows up in the Broncos face and it's totally because of Shanahan and his massive ego.
Anyone know why they can't put a dome stadium in Denver? Because Shanahan's ego wouldn't fit in it.

No, they didn't. Actually, they waited too long to make the change. I think Cutler will be a good QB and good leader for the Broncos. Broncos fans just have to be patient.

Young guns is what its all about. Look at what New England did with Tom Brady.
I think it was a wise choice. Shanahan admiited perhaps Cutler's loss was his fault due to the fact he may have put too many plays into the game for a rookie.
And see the signs of brightness in that game? How about under pressure to tie the game a 70+ yd touchdown pass with little time left?

Sun nights game put a huge amount of pressure on Cutler. For a rookie I think he did well. I don't think they should have waited, although I think that Shanahan could have made this change earlier.

I think that Cutler will give them the best chance to make it to the playoffs. Maybe they should have waited until the were not playing such a good team to start him.

Yes, i believe they should have waited. Maybe Shanahan thought Cutler could do for them what Romo is doing for Dallas.

The offense needed a spark because the offense hasn't lived up to their potential yet ....
