I hear white people getting called cracker, saltine, whitey, etc. but they don't say anything back. Who is really being racist?

No it should not be but that is the way it is. They can get away with it for some reason.

Ya.....it doesn't exactly seem the rule goes both ways. They had a a bunch of black kids beat the crap out of a little white boy and take his bike. They called him an ugly whitey and other various things. They got caught....but if it would have been a bunch of white kids on a black child...it would have been a race crime or hate crime on top of assult and theft. It's gotton too wierd now. I mean I'm not saying there isn't racism but sometimes people get whomped and it has nothing to do with race....sometimes they're simply just a jerk. Sometimes a victim isn't targeted because of race, it's more that they just happened to be the next person walking down the street or a vunerable target. It's hard to determine exactly what's going on in a persons mind when they commit a crime. It's just increasingly unfair when it's only white people charged when the racist remarks are free flowing from the other side as well. Every negative comment or disagreement or belief isn't always race based. It's gotten to the point where ANYTHING qualifies as "racist" just because you don't agree.

In this age, using a racial slur should be considered tacky at best and socially unacceptable but society has degenerated to a point that some races are "more equal" than others. "White" people (anyone of European descent) and Jews are increasingly open to racial attacks without social reprecussions. Asians (because of their success in the US) are also becoming targets for other minorities but will be defended if racially attacked by whites or Jews. Blacks, Hispanics, and "Native" Americans are so far "above" the rest of us that looking at them with disdain is the same as a racial slur.

We have a good, recent example. While I don't condone the actions of Michael Richards, he had to beg forgiveness of Jessie Jackson, a man who regularly refers to New York as "Hymietown" (a racial slur against Jews). Yet Jessie is exempt from having to apologize to Jews (an unprotected race) because of his race.

I think SOME blacks of America try their best, with the help of the whites, to make whites feel guilty for something that happened over 120 years ago. Enough already. Fair is fair, and an outcry needs to be made every time Chris Rock opens his mouth to equal the outcry over Michael Richards idiotic remarks.

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson has a good point about this remark. He is a black person who has noticed such to be true. He is afraid that one of these days a white person will get fed up with it, and just lash out, and others will follow. Then he said jess jackson will be asking for money, and it will just hurt america even more

No it is not ok and I personally am sick of it. If they will continue to do such a thing I will start doing it.
Slavery ended over a hundred years ago, I never owned a slave so I have nothing to feel guilty about. Reparations are STUPID! Their racism against white people is stupid.

The blacks. Whites should say the N word back and Hispanics should also stop using racial slurs against whites. It isn't okay for blacks to make racist remarks about whites.

No it's not Okay, but I feel most white Americans can handle it better then black Americans can handle being called racial slurs.

No, not all think it is OK. We use the "N" word for reaction to each other and don't take it as offensive. Look at it like your family, its ok to for you to say something derogatory in your own family. Outside of that it is offensive. "White" people choose to take it lightly, maybe some sort of example?

Though I agree that this is wrong too, I find it a little absurd for white males to complain about discrimination. The "poor suffering white-man" routine is really quite disingenuous.
