I wasnt even around when women voted for equal rights.... So how can you "blame" people who werent even there. Id be dead bored at home all day with nothing to do but watch tv... If that were the case, then when your girlfriend or wife quits working and you have to pay all the bills dont complain since you feel we should be working in the first place!

oh my, gotta love it. how about women having a talent or skill other than home making. How about the husband being laid off or not working. How about women being able to have an identity of their own? How about, I have been home for 13 years with my daughter and love it. But that is also a choice I made, and many "material" sacrifices I gladly gave up.. Women of the 40 & 50;'s were supressed and not given credit for having a mind that worked, only acheiving the right to vote some 20-30 years earlier, because we were not thought to be capable?! HA The "rights" you speak of are HUMAN rights and HUMAN choices that should be afforded EVERY human, regardless of race or sex. Still we do the same work and are paid less across the board. Just because men are physically stronger and have the ability to overpower us and supress us physically does not make you more capable. Only bullies. Not every woman chooses to work, some are forced by circumstance and still not even accorded that recognition of being capable. It is women who always make up the shortages and make it all work out. If men could only really learn to compromise and do their share! There is more to a family than 9:00 to 5:00 and bringing home a paycheck, especially one that does not even cover the expenses. How about men getting jobs that could support their families better? Take on some repsonsibility yourselves! We deserve to live just as freely and with as little judgement as the male gender is given. Not all men are gems! Can you imagine having to fight for your rights every single day of your life and still be thought of as less by smucks like you?? It's men like you who take advantage, belittle and perpetuate the whole "we are better" argument, when all it really is, is who is louder, who is stronger. And don't forget the Governments part in rising prices, affordabilities and life as we knew it once upon a time. Women were ASKED by men to work during the war effort, to help the troops in WWII, many men never came home. Did you support them, feed their children, pay their rent?? There were no choices. I hope your father or grandfather wore the clothes, ate the food and flew the planes that my mother and grandmother helped to build, sew, knit, grow and sacraficed, (once again) for the men of the USA. God Bless Us EVERYONE!

Well I don't agree with your whole women's movement theory because I had nothing to do with suffrage, etc. but I think each couple needs to define their relationship. I would NEVER tell my husband to help more around the house when he works 9-10 hour days and travels for work. He works hard and has every right to come home and relax. His job is going to work, I work out of our home and take care of the house. It works for us. Anyway, I will agree that a lot of times women in the workforce are a nuisance. When I worked in a professional job in the office I felt very out of place.

Well you might have something if men could acually bare children, but in fact that you can't means you are unworthy to complain about any women needing help. We brought you men into the world, how do you think you ot here? Look at your mother and say what you just stated here, she will not be happy with the way you developed into what you like to call a man.
I did 30hrs of labor and a blood trans, 6mths on bed rest......take to me when you did buddy

i dont really have an answer for you....just a question. Are you stuck in the 1940's with June Cleaver? My mother is a retired master teacher, and her working helped me be who I am today. Now I teach too. I think when women say they wish they had more help it is because they want wnat everything to run smoothly for their family and be nice for their husband and children. Women have been working for years, equal rights helped not only women but minorities. You know you might like it up here in 2006 with the rest of us. It is nicer you know

Me and my man both work......I would LOVE to stay home BUT, just not feasible where we live...too expensive......both my kids are in school all day now so its easier now.....
I still do the majority of the housework, and I do all the laundry....my man does all the "carting around" the boys for sports, scouts, all the stuff they are involved in.
Both of us work very hard and no, I am not complaining......idolness is the Devil's workshop, anyway.....

i think of it actually comes right down to lack of self belief. women p.c. to think of they are in a position to "replace" a guy- they like having that skill/privelege or administration and helps them to experience a feeling of purpose. the two that or they think of it particularly is all they're worth or deserving of.
