An autotroph synthesizes all its own food that it later digests to make energy and metabolic and growth substances.
A good example are mot plants that use sun energy and carbon dioxide and water to synthesize sugars.
Heterotrophs must get their carbon based food compounds by eating plants or eating other plant eating animals. Most animals are heterotrophs.
A sentence using both terms. Here goes. The heterrotrophic hungry lions ran down and ate a heterotrophic zebra that was especially fond of the delicious, and alluring autrophic savanna grasses.
