As America quitely ignores whats happening in Beruit right now.......this looks like it will be a bloody battle, no 32 day war this time...what happened to US's stance about facilitating democracy in Lebanon?

Israel is meanwhile adjusting accordingly for another fight with Lebanon(Hezbalah)....after realizing they underestimated them, they were tougher and more organized than they had thought.

I know Dr. Rice has been over there working with Palestine/Israel....has she been to Lebanon too?

If Hezbollah/Syria takes over in Lebanon, it will probably resume attacks against Israel, to which Israel will respond with the full force of the IDF.

This situation is a classic example of how not to fight a war you have to totally decimate an enemy and have them surrender, then build from there. If you don't then you have continual conflict like Israel have had for the last 40 years with the lost of more lives in the long run. The lessons of history shows this we only achieve peace in all the wars America fought when we decimated our enemies.

I don't see another war occurring anytime soon. Both sides are still licking their financial wounds.

I would strongly suggest to the Muslims to never kidnap anymore foreign news correspondents. Their bosses are very rich and powerful people who wouldn't mind donating millions of their own money to help Israel kick the poop out of the Muslims. It is too easy to hire your own personal assassins over there and have them kill certain key Hezbalah (sp?) party leaders in revenge for kidnapping your people and make it look like Israel did it.

It's likely that we are preparing for whatever happens in Lebanon !
We haven't ignored them, it's just a matter of working behind the scenes . Don't forget. . . .this could be the big one . And I know our government realizes that . They just can't say it. . . . for many reasons .

What has this got to do with America? If talks fail, then Israel
is going in to kick some bums.

US will look the other way, They can not raise arms against Isreal. The US economy is dominated by American Jews and any US govt cant go against their intrests.
