Is staying friends with exes and ex-FWB the hardest thing ever?

I think that it can be quite hard, but it depends on how the relationship ended. And it depends if you still hang around in the same places and see each other. Because after I broke up with one ex, we did remain friends. I'll admit that it did feel slightly awkard when I then met his new girlfriend, but we still are friends, so that is a postive thing.

However my best friend when she broke up with her boyfriend, its as if war war 3 had started, and too this day whenever they see each other its daggers at dawn. So I think that it depends on the people and what caused the split in the first place

This really depends on the personalities of the people involved. I have and ex-FWB that I am still friends with to this day. We actually realized that "just friends" is all we ever should have been in the first place and we are actually pretty good friends now.

You have to be very strong. Its very hard being friends after a breakup even if there were problems. Trust and loyalty are issues then how would the other person value these even as friends. It makes you question if you can even trust this person as a friend. I always give the benefit of the doubt so I can always say I tried.

There is NO positive. A break up is a break up. There should be no contact after the deed is done. There is a reason that you couldn't be in a relationship; those same reasons will make it hard to stay friends.

Just because you could not make it as a couple does not mean you have to be enemies. Some relationships are better off as friends. It also depending on thhe circumstances on why you have broke up in the first place.

It depends on the type of person you are, if you are mature enough it'll work, but usually it doesn't because there are too many emotions involved.
