Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

love means to serve. Love is verb (action word) not a noun.Love demands understanding, empathy , communication and servicing.Love is not a talk.It is rather a walk. Hollywood movies have spread wrong notion that love starts when you meet your sweet heart. It is not so, it require lot of sacrifice and patience and all such hard qualities which make a relationship a real LOVE

Love is a state of mind, with respect to a specific individual, which is ever willing to give and forgive.
((I hope you like my originally coined definition...... of course based on ideas gathered otherwise.))

A surge of love we feel sometimes for someone at a particular moment is merely an emotion .... lasting love is not an emotion, it is a state of mind towards a person.

Love is often incorrectly used with reference to objects..... it is not love, it is just strong liking.

In a narrow sense, love is used for the relationship between a man and a woman with sex as an integral part of it ....... love however is a broader concept than that and is in no way sex specific.

Love that leads to the desire to possess or own or unite is not pure love ...... pure love has no forbearing characteristic.

I'm guessing this would be different things for different people. I'm guessing a mothers love for her baby/child (in an ideal world) is probably the strongest love you could get.
