Go to the hardware store and get some grout cleaner. After you clean the grout, use some grout sealer to seal the grout. When the grout is sealed, it will be easy to clean--the dirt won't get into the grout. You'll need to reapply the grout sealer every couple of years.

The commercials for the Clorox Bleach pen show that you can use it on grout to clean it up. Try it. Then seal with grout sealer.
I would be interested in knowing how this works because I have not tried it. Just watch too much TV. I like the pen on clothing when I get a stain.

If grout is white: Get an empty spray bottle. Put a strong bleach and water mix into it. Spray the grout, leave for half an hour then wipe off with cloth. No wear and tear on you or the grout and it comes up sparkling clean.

I keep a spray bottle in my bathroom of 50-50 water & clorox.
This does trick with very little or no scubbing.
Just spray the grout and let it sit for 30 minutes or so, then spray off.
Hope this helps.
