Stop waiting for Yahoo answers and tend to your son.

Get him to a doctor. Poor guy - he's probably sitting in the middle of the floor crying while mommy types away on the cpu.

Nice question. I hope that you are still sitting there and reading these responses because mine will REALLY help. First you need to ignore what everyone else has written. This is really all just in your mind. You need to close your eyes and take a nap, maybe even get him to take a nap with you. Once you are both calm you can check to see what the damage really is. Did he chip the table? If so, you will probably need to get a little wood filler, and some sandpaper, then some stain/paint to match the color of the table. This will make it where your husband won't know that the table was damaged when he gets home. Once the table is back to good, the swelling will probably have gone down on your son's lip and you can see if the teeth did go all the way through or not. If they did, push them back inside his lip where they belong, you probably don't want them on the outside of his lip. If not, just a little baby aspirin will probably help with the pain, and what my dentist says is that warm salt water really is the best treatment for mouth trauma. Hope this helps!

It depends on how bad it is. Your going to have to clean up the blood around it and if you can pull the tooth from the lip. If the tooth does not come out gently then you might have to take him to the hospital. There they can give him something to num his lip, pull the tooth out, clean the wound and then depending on how bad the cut is stitch. Keep it clean and cover that away germs nd bacteria can get inside the cut. All this is just depnding on how bad and severe the cut and the gum is. Im pretty sure he is feeling sore so be careful. Im not a doctor nor do I know alot about medical stuff. I do put forth an effort. For a an 17 yr old I dont think im that bad. Hopes this helps.

Just goes to show how much these guys know. The mouth is the fastest healing part of the body. First, put some peroxide on a cloth and hold it on his lip. Once the bleeding slows, decide how bad it is. If it went only through most of his lip and not any other part of his face, then ice it and keep it clean. Give him some ibuprofen if the pain is unbearable, which it probably is. It is up to YOU to judge how bad it is. If you really cant stop the bleeding or if it went all the way through, medical help may be best. Good luck and check back to us to let us know how he is.

Calm down. He probably doesn't need stitches. kids are resilient. The
best thing for any bumps and cuts is to stop the bleeding with a clean cloth
and some pressure. An ice pack will reduce swelling and usually stop
bruising. Your attitude is very important. If you stay calm your child will too.

First place a bag of ice cubes wrapped in a towel on his lip, then take him to the nearest hospital.
Hope he feels better soon.
Good Luck

Pack with with a little ice to stop the bleeding and take him to the doctor immediately - he may or may not need stitches, depending on how deep the cut is.

I had this happen to me way back when I was a kid. When my mom took me to to the doctor he just told me to use mouth wash and ice it. If it is to the point that it will leave a bad scare maybe you should go to a plastic surgeon. But he will be fine

Definatly need to take him for stitches ASAP! Since he uses his mouth alot, there is no way it will heal on its own with out being reopened, put a clean cloth on it and get him in the car.
