We are in a generation where the mindset is the most important person on the whole planet is ME. The whole world seems or at least it should be revolving around ME and I shouldn't have to put out any energy on someone who isn't furthuring my existance. I mean when they have to enact a law that makes people come to other peoples aid says something. It's all about ME.

Some people do not have compassion because they are miserable individuals. Generally, you need to have something to share it with others. Many people are so needy that they cannot meet the needs (or even identify with the needs) of others.

More and more people are developing sociopathic traits in our world, it's part of our culture. To be a sociopath menas you do not have any regard fro anyone elses pain or feelings, you are immune to it. This is what allows serial killers to kill over and over again because they do not see us as humans, it's a psychological condition.
