The original Christmas tree started in ( hope I got the location right) Norway, as a means of finding their way home in the dark winter.
Their wives and children would place ribbons of colour and lanterns on trees to light their way home after a long day of foraging for food.
Up there, they would endure 1 to 2 months of darkness.

A Christmas tree is a symbol of good fortune, means you found your way home to your family to rejoice, eat and warmth of a fireplace.

A Christmas tree is what you like it to be, it a reflection of your personality and colour.

The best place to buy a real christmas tree from is a farm that specialises in them. They will let you pick out one you like. Some farms even let you choose it before they cut it down.

Other than that, garden centres and supermarkets sell them.

Trafalgar square if you have courage enough to nick one. or the other places mentioned.
My favorite, seen on an American movie (do'nt remember the name). Quietly sneak up on an evergreen in your neighbor's front garden, saw or broad axe in hand....
