Tourism, Overseas Investment And Real Estate,are the main sources of income for Dubai. It Unlike The Rest Of The Emirates Is Not Completely Dependent On Oil, as It Has Limited Oil as Compared To The Other Emirates.

I'm a petroleum engineer & I was working in UAE. For sure oil is not the source of wealth for Dubai (Abu Dhabi - yes). Basically UAE as a country is very rich in oil & profit is shared among them. Dubai rulers made good use of that money in business development in many fields within Dubai till it came to what it came now & will still grow. But now, or you could say for the past few years, their main wealth is coming from the business & tourism phases, and for sure not oil.

Abu Dhabi has the oil, but Dubai depends mostly on tourism and business, they try to attract the multinational companies
