I was written up today, I don't feel like defending myself, because there would be no point. I cannot write "no comment" so how would I write politely and not so cliche' as I have seen the errors of my ways and will improve?

Simply write I have no explanation for my actions and I am truly sorry for them. It will not happen again.

I dont know if anyone would give you a second chance based on this explanation for your actions but that is how you would word it.

IF you really have seen the error of your ways then there is no point embroidering the truth, which can never be trite and cliched.

The problem is when you SAY you have seen the light and DO NOT change - the counsellor has your previous lies on record.

Something like....

"I have considered your comments, and the way you put them to me made me realise that I am in the wrong.
I am going to try to improve the way I do things, although I realise that my track record is not great. I will need your support and encouragement as I try to put things right. Thank you for putting me straight."
