Okay, I am the only person who sorts the dirty laundry, washes, dries, folds, hangs up and put it all away. I check the pockets of the kids clothes am I responsible for checking my husband pants too? I know it doesn't take that much time but I think hubby should be the one to make sure everything is out of his pockets. He's left pens, gum, papers, wallet and more. The pen had happened several times and has ruined clothes.. Tell me what you think.

I go through the same thing with my husband. He blames me if I miss something in his pocket and it gets ruined. I mean its his pants. He would want me to clean out mine if it was a reversed situation. One good thing about it, if I find money in there...I put in a little box and save it for our kids. If he asked me where the money was in his pocket, I pretend I dont know what hes talking about. I mean, if it was a kid, you'd let them suffer because they should have been more responsible. I sometimes think that should be the same way with him. Its not my fault he lost it, should have put it in a safe place. We have enough things to worry about around the house besides laundry. I mean, WE are the only ones that does it!

I have the same problem at home with my husband. I have washed just about everything because he will not emptly his pockets before I do laundry. Since he will not help me with this, every time I was items in his pocket, I put them on his night stand so that he can see what has been ruined in the laundry. I'm hoping one day he will get the point and empty his pockets before putting his pants in the laundry.

I do laundry at my house too. Yes, I am the only one who does it there. I personally had rather check the pockets myself than have clothes ruined over something so petty. Find something else he can help with since you do the laundry.

Allow your husband to be a husband. Not the child. He knows you will continue emptying out his pockets. One sure way of stopping this is to allow him to do his OWN laundry. He will then appreciate your efforts and see first hand what is involved. As far as your kids go, stick to your disciplines. Follow through and mean what you say. Good Luck.

Just check the pockets. I think it's part of the process. When I help my wife wash clothes, I check her pockets, no biggy. I bet if you find money instead of wrappers and stuff it's not a problem, lol.

If your worried about clothes getting ruined, the best thing to do is to make checking pockets part of the washing clothes process. I think there is something more to your story because you will do it for everyone else, but when it comes to your hubby, it's a problem ? Hmmmmmmm !

I do my own laundry. It is because I check the pockets and my wife does not. My wallet and various items have been washed numerous times.
Strange she never seemed to wash the loose cash though.

Just wash his wallet a few times some important business cards a silk tie, basically anything that he has that is important that is NOT SUPPOSED to be washed. He'll get it when you tell him after the second or third time. Just don't ruin your stuff in the process.

Well, make sure only his clothes are in the wash and "accidentally" wash a few pens and maybe his wallet. That will teach him.

I don't really think they like it when you check their pockets....we all hate it, don't we?. Let him know you'll do the laundry a day before and ask him to please empty his pockets because you don't want to ruin his clothes again.

You do way too much. He needs to take care of emptying his own pockets. Man he sounds lazy
