My baby is three months old and today she seemed floppy and wont grasp my hand with much strength and there is an indent in her chest under the sternum when she breathes, I am wondering if I am just being paranoid or what causes this floppiness in babies..please respond thanks.

Okay well She became more floppy and tired like and so I called an ambulance, they checked her out and she is fine and her oxygen levels are fine as well....so I was being paranoid. Or she could be coming down with a bug. Either way I am very relieved and I should stop being so paranoid...I hope I didnt over react but thanks for your suggestions.

this could be nothing, or she could be sick. you know your baby best, and if you feel that she's not acting normal, you should take her to the doctor. it's better to be safe than sorry!

While I hope and pray everything is fine with your baby, whenever you have a "feeling" that something is wrong, follow it. If you're feeling that something is different or wrong, you need to immediately call your doctor and if they can't or won't see you right away (I'd get a new doc) take your baby to the ER immediately. I don't have any kids, but, I do have 4 dogs that are like my children and if they start acting differently than normal, I'm on the phone immediately and have even taken them to the ER - and each time there's been a problem. You can worry about being paranoid later...and it's ok if you are. It's just not worth the risk! Good luck to you...hope you're getting your shoes and coat on now....

Call the doctor NOW. She could have RSV. Which can be deadly in babies. The indent in her chest suggests that. Or take her to the closest ER that deals with very young children. Good luck

I would expect to see this kind of question on the pets section but this is a real live baby. You need to call the the doctor if this is something the baby just started doing.

Floppiness is kind of odd, I would call your doc and take her in today if possible.
I think the indent sounds normal though.

You must not expect those without medical knowledge to diagnose this. Your babe is too precious. Seek the help and advice of your doctor.
