Now it wont boot and the monitor gows out. I had just installed a ned CD Drive. Ive restored everything to the way it was but still now joy. Pent 450.

If you booted me I am sure that I would beep too. So you have to be nice to your PC, polish it often, pay it compliments and generally treat it like a rare and precious object and then it may behave.
Do not start fiddling with your PC's internal organs, it doesn't like it. Just tickle in on the 'Start' button occasionally to give it a little sensuous thrill.
That is all I know about PCs I'm afraid. Hope this helps.

Do you have a graphics card installed internally into a pci slot?

or any other item... if a card isn't fully inserted the pc will not run.

A faulty graphics card always does this... you will turn the pc on, the beep will never happen, the pc wont load and the monitor will display nothing...

check all your cards are inserted fully and secure.

Sounds like you motherboard needs to be replaced!! I know cos that is exactly what has been happening mine and the man from dell came today and fixed it!! Find out if its under warranty and they will be out within 48hours with no charge
