The duration of a rain shower is directly proportional to the length of time until you reach shelter. (And the intensity of the rainfall is proportional to the level of inappropriateness of the way you're dressed...)

Do you live in the desert? If not you should have seen rain by now and you would know that every rain shower is not the same length.

Are you serious?? What a question. Anything from a few seconds to several MONTHS in monsoon season in tropical parts of the world. There's not going to be a standard answer for a question like that.

It depends on the size of the cloud usually cumulus clouds, if you are near hills and mountains and what country you are in.
If you are here in Ireland, it varies but you are basically guaranteed it every day this time of year. It can last all day and night!
