You can read, listen to relaxing sounds (such as Ocean and Thunderstorm CDS), drink a glass of milk to fill your tummy to make you sleepy, or you can also masturbate to relax yourself and fall asleep. Think about what types of things make you sleepy in general.

I have sleeping issues too but I have learned some things along the way that have helped me. If I want to get a good night's sleep I don't drink caffeine after 6 o'clock. Also, I don't take any naps during the day, I stay up, even if I am tired. Do you read before bed? I have found that makes me really really sleepy, especially if I read in bed. Listening to some calm music helps as well. How is the temperature in your room? Make sure it's comfortable for you! I personally like a warm and toasty room to fall alseep, but some people like cooler rooms :-). Exercise 1-2 hours before you go to bed is great too! Hope this helps!

I mix a few drops of lavender essential oil and vanilla extract in a little spray bottle with 12 to 16 ounces of water. Shake it well and spray your pillows or bedroom.
You can also make a small pillow filled with hops, lavender flowers and chamomile flowers and put this inside your pillowcase. It's crunchy to sleep on, so I just leave it in the far side of the pillowcase so I smell it but not lay on it.
Chamomile tea before bed is nice too. I go to bed the same time each night and get up at the same time each day. That way I have a routine, and my body knows when to get sleepy.
There's a lot of good aromatherapy information out there for relaxation and insomnia. They might help you.
Good luck!

The scent of lavender is very soothing and calming, you might try one of those herb-filled pouches that you microwave and put under your pillow.
There is now scientific evidence to suggest that aromatherapy with lavender slows the activity of the nervous system, improves sleep quality, promotes relaxation, and lifts mood in people suffering from sleep disorders. Studies also suggest that massage with essential oils, particularly lavender, may result in improved sleep quality, more stable mood, increased mental capacity, and reduced anxiety. In one recent study, participants who received massage with lavender felt less anxious and more positive than participants who received massage alone. Lavender flowers have also been approved by the Commission E in Germany as a tea for insomnia, restlessness, and nervous stomach irritations.

Melatonin worked very well for me and you should be able to pick it up from any health food store or ND. My ND warned me about the possibilities of nightmares and to stop taking this if it occurred but I had no problem with it.

I was looking at a vitamin booklet and it said Melationin was a sleep aid. I found it in the vitamin section and my boyfriend takes all the time, and he says it helps him.

Be careful of 5HTP. You aren't suppose to take it if you are on any anti-depresants. I like the Melatonin.
