So long as you have no history of blood clots its actually okay to fly clear through your pregnancy, although in your third trimester your doctor doesnt want you that far from home, and most airlines frown upon very pregnant women flying, incase they should go into labor.

I was very worried about this when I first found out I was pregnant. I travel a lot and my doctor assured me that as long as the pregnancy is "normal" it is perfectly safe to fly. I flew twice once at 3 weeks and again around 7 weeks. I am scheduled to fly again at the end of this week (I'll be 13 weeks). The one thing she advised me to do was make sure I get up and walk around at least once per hour so that blood clots wouldn't be an issue. Based on what I was told I'd say that as long as you aren't having any complications then flying is safe during the first trimester.

It's safe to fly until the last month assuming you have no complications and the baby is still on schedule. You can ask your doc for sure.
PS...I was also allowed to take dramamine for motion sickness...I flew at 30 weeks.

Yes, it is safe until your 3rd trimester then you need to get permission from your doctor. Unless you are high risk then you should consult with your doctor first.

well, I wouldn't! I flew from London to Peru and back (15 hrs each way) in the early stages of pregnancy (i didn't know i was pregnant at the time) and lost it a week later. Im not saying it was def. the flight that caused it.... who knows, but I would never risk it again

Sure! You can fly up until your due date, although most airlines will ask for a Dr's note if you're in your 3rd trimester.

Agree it's okay as long as doctor has not said no. At 5 months I flew and had terrible swelling in ankles and calves --- should have elevated my feet during flight.
