everyone always says that kobe is a selfish player, that means they obvisiouly havent seen him play this season. He is only averaging 16 shots a game and 25 points. He is shooting 50% from the field, and He has only had 3 30 point games. He is getting his teammates involved now more than other so watch a game or two before you start saying that.

I would agree, he's not a ball hog. Last year he felt compelled to carry the team, mainly because they were heaving bricks and didn't get the triangle offense.

He's prone to the occasional Allen Iverson 5-30 shooting with 18 free throws kind of nights. Pinballing in for fouls. That's when I wish he was less selfish, when he's off his game...

Maybe it's the knee, or maybe it's Phil, or perhaps Lamar is realizing his potential, but Kobe is the complete player this year.

He'll lose the label if they go deep in the playoffs, playing they way they are now.

LA finished off the Pacers fine without him. They are finally getting the triangle.

One quarter of one season does not define a player's style. Look at his past history; throwing up bricks from 25 feet with a defender in his face b/c he wants the last shot, lowering his shoulder and charging straight into a defender (which should be a foul on Kobe) so he can shoot his free throws, running Shaq out of town so he can be the big dog, constantly calling for the ball and then sneering if a teammate dares put up a shot that misses.
This season Kobe is off to a good start. He needs to continue this style before he can shake the "selfish player" label that he has earned.

I think that Kobe shoots the ball an appropriate amount of times each game, considering who his teammates are, they are lucky he's only taking 16 shots a game, because he's the only one who can shoot.

I agree for sure ,in the past years he wasnt the most unselfish person ,but who he have to really help him on the team that was competent?.At least now he is sharing the ball with Bynum ,Odom ,Brown. Its because they are being productive as well ,thats why his numbers are down now as well ,he doesnt HAVE to score 45 a game to have the Lakers win

Kobe is playing more like a team player this year, and the Lakers look pretty tough. But that doesn't change the fact that Kobe will never be considered a true leader, or that he's a snitch and "alleged" rapist.

I wouldn't call him a ball hog. That is putting it way to lightly. Is there a stronger word for it.
