I Know Isn't That Annoying? It's Like When Your Wrapping Presents And You've Left it Till The Very Last Minute, You Get Half Way Through And Use Up The Last Of The Sticky Tape. They Should Put One Of Those Red Line's Or Something To Let You Know It's Running Out So You Buy More!
Merry Christmas Mate, Have A Gooday.

I would assume it's because of the human sleep patterns... Most people may pass into a deeper sleep at that time after the alarm, and Snooze doesn't want you to get there. Just a guess, though.

You are soo lucky mine snooze only lasts 7 minutes. Maybe the manufacture decides what the normal person considers a sort extra time period, before getting out of bed.
they could take surveys on the internet or the mall.

It differs with different clocks. Mine starts at 7 minutes, then cahnges to 6, then 5.
How much snooze can you sleep in 1 minute though?

On some you can adjust it.
But why not just get up when the alarm goes off? You just about to fall back asleep again and then the buzzer goes off.
I hate that so I get up before the alarm sounds the first time.

because they actually lasted 8 minutes when they came out (a nice round number), then had to push the envelope and add that extra minute to out-do the competition. before we know it alarm clocks will go off 24/7 due to supply/demand competition.

Because it has a ten minute timer, but the alarm itself runs for one minute, leaving nine before the cycle begins again.

I've noticed that with my husbands clock radio - mine is every five minutes but his is every nine. Perhaps it cannot cope with ten minutes as it's double figures, as opposed to the single figure of nine minutes? Don't know really, sorry.
