Unless your lady is carrying twins in the second trimester, or has otherwise been deemed a high risk pregnancy by her doctor, then sex is not only beneficial, but its healthy for all involved.
As a man you want to be careful, control your depth (irritating the cervix can cause bleeding, and in rare cases infection and even miscarriage), and never perform oral sex, (especially blowing in the vagina, this can cause blood clots to form which risk the health and even the lives of the baby and the woman). The best way to do these things is to let her call the shots. She'll know when you're too deep because its painful, and she can let you know what positions are best for her.
Also, bear in mind that pregnant women are a mess of hormones, and a lot of the time those hormones completely kill their sex drive. She might just be digusted at the thought of having sex during pregnancy. Its normal, and something you'll have to come to terms with.
There is no limitation on how often, so long as shes healthy, and the baby is healthy you can have sex whenever the mood strikes you both. The endorphins released are excellent for reducing stress in her body, and are also shared with the baby.
Fun is had by all.

Sex is normal and ok for most pregnancies. High risk pregnancies are sometimes told no sex. I'm not sure what you mean by beneficial, but most positions are ok during pregnancy. Once the woman gets bigger the man on top may be uncomfortable for her, especially in missionary position. Take your cues from her. If a position looks uncomfortable or she looks as if she is not enjoying herself, switch to another postiion. Communication during pregnancy is extremely important, so make sure you discuss it with her. There is an old wives tale that sex can help you go into labor, but studies have proved that women who have sex close to the end of the pregnancy usually go longer than those who don't. Other questions you may have about pregnancy can usually be answered if you go to www.babycenter.com It is a very comprehensive site that millions of people have been to. I have been going there for almost ten years and I have always been able to find an answer to the question I had. Good Luck

In any pregnancy which is not in jeapordy, it is not harmful to have sex...not sure of it being BENEFICIAL, but no harmful if everything is going well.
Any position which is comfortable for the woman is fine, generally. It is only dangerous if there are complications, mainly those which could cause the woman to go into premature labor as having an orgasm MAY help cause this so would not be wise in a risky pregnancy...

My Doc. told me it was very beneficial. First, if the woman is trying to go into labor, orgasms will help that process go a little faster. Plus sex can be relaxing for a stressed , expecting mother. As long as the woman is comfortable and not trying any strange positions it is very safe. Really you dont want her to hang from the ceiling fan or anything.

Ok well i have two children and one on the way. I still have sex up until the day i go into labor. Its safe as long as the doctor says its ok. They will tell you not to if you can't for some health reason. what ever position works for the women is fine. I like to be on top when i am pregnant its more comfortable that way. Good luck.

The doctors tell you that if you have sex late in a pregnancy, it can stimulate the onset of labor. I don't know if they tell you that because it's true, or if it's just a tactic to get you to relax and enjoy your normal sex life... a way to take your mind off your worries about labor. BUT, in any case, they wouldn't make such a recommendation if it wasn't SAFE to have sex. Just take it easy and don't do anything really freaky.

Having sex can stimulate hormones in your body.. makes you and the baby happy. It's not a bad thing to do. The baby will be perfectly safe. A nice, comfortable position is 'spooning'. that will take any pressure off your back and tummy.

I'm sure it's not dangerous, the human body is amazingly resilient. The one caution I would use is a blindfold for the guy doing you.
