MB is bigger, there are 1024 KB in 1 MB

A MB is 1,000 KBs, or in strict binary, due to computers working with even powers of 2 it's 1,024 KBs

When discussing disk storage most manufacturers go by

1,000 bytes = 1 kilobyte
1,000 kilobytes = 1 megabyte
1,000 megabytes = 1 gigabyte
1,000 gigabytes = 1 terabyte

With RAM the tend to use the closest binary equivilant (1,024, 2 to the 10th power)

1,024 bytes = 1 kilobyte
1,024 kilobytes = 1 megabyte
1,024 megabytes = 1 gigabyte
etc.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Bill

Hi. Here is the difference: Kilo stands for 1000 and mega stands for 1,000,000. A kilobyte, however, is actually 1024 bytes and a megabyte is actually 1,048,576 bytes. But, since these numbers are so close to 1000 and 1,000,000, most people use them for conversion. So, using these numbers, 1MB=1000 KB and 1KB=1000 bytes. But, technically, 1MB=1024 KB and 1KB=1024 bytes. To convert, just use division. (value of MB/KB or vice-versa) This page is awesome for quick help with conversion:

KB is Kilo Byte vs MB which is Mega Byte using computer notation 1 Mega Byte = 1024 Kilo bytes though manufacturers usually round to 1000.

Mb stands for Mega Byte (millions of bytes)
Kb stands for Kilo Byte (thousands of Bytes)

1024 Bytes makes 1 Kilo Byte
1024 Kilo Bytes makes 1 Mega Byte
1024 Mega Bytes makes 1 Giga Byte :)

MB (megabyte) is bigger than KB (kilobyte)

1 kilobyte = 1024 bytes

1 megabyte = 1024 kilobyte.

So, a megabyte is 1024 times larger than a kilobyte. Similarly, a gigabyte is 1024 times larger than a megabyte.
