everyone over the age of 60 is entitled to this payment but i think its wrong to be paid to people who are still in full time employment which has happened to my friend.

The fuel allowance should be paid to those who qualify. Your friend may be at the lower end of the scale where take home pay is concerned, and therefore is perfectly entitled to receive payment. In any event, the recipients are lucky to be able to purchase a small bag of coal with this payment and indeed some old people continue to suffer from the elements, because they can not afford the enormous cost of heating

Most people over sixty don't have full time jobs. If they do it is as a greeter at Wal Mart. Some seniors may be rich and not need it, but that does not hurt you and the program is needed by most seniors.

Not everyone over 60 receives this it all depends on how much money they make and their is help for anyone who cant afford the heating cost. My parent's don't get any help and they are over 65.

yes it's fair. Most of those people have paid into the system all of their lives. It's only fair they get something back. They have chosen to keep working so they should not be penalised for it.

No it should got to people on benefits only. It's like Child benefit should only be paid to the poor and not the rich mums with their Chelsea tractors!

there are many people out there who receive this payment that i don't think should receive it i heard a story of someone who now lives abroad who still receives this payment. Many people are suffering unnecessarily

This is the biggest problem with socialism. People expecting to get something for nothing and expecting the government to support them in their old age. Thank goodness I have a stable IRA!!!

Look after the oldies, they deserve this payment regardless if they are working or not.
