How would you define a person as classy?

what traits or characteristics could such person have to be called such?

First would be how they look. A well put together outfit that is sophisticated, nothing trashy or very revealing. Hair that is clean, and styled, without a lot of obvious product. Makeup (for women) that is barley there for days, and only slightly more obvious for evenings. Only one bold color on the face at a time (lips or eyes) and face makeup is always a natural look. No bright blush or heavy bronzer. A very stylish and elegant overall look, nothing bold or brash. Nothing too sporty or casual, like athletic shoes, t-shirts, sweats, etc... is worn for everyday use. It's kept for home, the gym, and chores.

They are confident, considerate, have good manners, and respect. Good posture, and the way they carry themselves to show others that they care about themselves, and they want to be treated as such. They don't stoop to a low level when upset or treated badly. Insults aren't a regular part of their conversations, nor are cuss words. Being rude or vulgar isn't who that person is. They always try to maintain good behavior, not bad.

As far as i am concerned there is no fixed guidelines to declare a person as classy,there is a thin line which decides that if a person can be distinguished from rest of the crowd and carries himself or herself well,i'll found him or her as classy

Uses appropriate language, dresses in classic and sophisticated clothing, is always well put together, always behaves politely and graciously.

The opposite of trashy...a trashy person swears or uses offensive language, dresses in revealing cheap clothing, gets drunk in public or is rude to others.

Classy person is when he takes care of his outfit...when he knows the right moment to say...excuse me , I'm sorry, thank you, May I help you :) and e person who is a good listener and when he talks with finesse.
