The different grades of jet fuels are kerosene too, but I wouldn' t put it into a heater. Lamp oil is scented and contains coloring. It also contains other impurities that don't effect a kerosene lamp, but might ruin a heater. The K-1 kerosene recommended for heaters is filtered multiple times at the refinery and one last time when being dispensed at the pump.

It can be used. Normally lamp oil nothing more than scented kerosene, that had some additives to hel pcut down on smoking, but it is expensive in relation to the cost of heater fuel
