If what I've read about this beautiful and talented young actress is true, then I am shocked.
She seemed to have a great start there for a while with Mean Girls kicking her into world-wide stardom, but now seems to be throwing all that talent away with the boozing, partying and hosting events that have nothing whatsoever to do with her acting, not to mention those scars on her arms.
I'm just at a loss as to why she would do this to herself...

Not all celebs are happy. Yeah they have it all, the $$, fame, stardom, you name it, but happiness doesnt come from having it all in life.

I don't think it's for attention. People who self-injure sometimes do it for the same reason as those who have an eating disorder (it's all about control). It's already been discovered that Lindsay was bulimic or anorexic, so it's not a surprise that self-injury has followed.
I can see why Lindsay would feel her life is out of control: Her father is in jail, she is the provider for her family, people with cameras follow her everwhere and film her every move, she is scrutinized publicly every day, etc. Self-injury might just make her feel like she is able to control something.

For the attention and media coverage perhaps? If it weren't for these things she's doing to herself the press wouldn't talk about her or be interested in her till she does her next film. Maybe working seems like too much hard work!! Only reason I can think of...!

Duh!!! It's obviously because she's ginger!!!!! She suffers from ginger shame, that's why she dyes her hair all the time, but now she's taken it one step further and is trying to cut the freckles out of her arms. Accept it Lindsay - you're ginger!!!!
