And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

As you know, Joni, I am not traditionally religious, but every year I mark the holiday by reading the Biblical account of the Nativity. That way, for at least one moment during the holidays, my mind is focused on the "reason for the season."
Doesn't matter. As Lucy Van Pelt says, Christmas is a commercial racket controlled by a big Eastern syndicate.
"I never get what I really want--real estate."

The reason for the season, although popularly traced back to the year 0 when baby Jeebus was born. Is in fact purley to satisfy the need for a french perfume company to pay an America actress far too much to say "I looove to dance" Christmas is broken, and needs repairing. ps Where's the snow & top hat wearing gentlemen skating? :-)

Jesus is the Reason for the Season!
Sadly we forget this, and think only of the gifts and treats.

There are many reasons. There's not just one.
It's a birthday.
It's a festival.
It's a celebration.
It's a time to chill
And hang out with family and friends.
