Unfortunately there is no easy fix for a scraped up wheel. You actually took some metal out of it when you scratched it and the only way to fix that is to replace the metal that you lost. It sounds like your pretty scared of your husband, maybe you should be looking for a good divorce attorney instead of a fix for your alloys...

This happened my brother recently also. He has a 5 star alloy as in 5 spokes, he got it remoulded. Not sure what it does to the strenght and structure of the alloy, but looks ok. I think it can take a couple of days for this to be done. Not sure how much this costs but anything to do with alloys are expensive unfortunately.
Anything that looks nice or tastes nice is either expensive or bad for you!

Unfortunately no, there's no cheap way out when it comes to alloy wheels. You may be able to find a replacement wheel.
There's a company called "Keystone" in New Jersey that sells refurbished used wheels that look like new. You might try them.
The company is located in Kenilworth, New Jersey.

There is nothing you can do other than sanding it or taking it to a professional as you say the scrap is deep if it had only been a small scrape and surface you could have polished it. sorry you are just going to have to face the music.

Sounds as if there is no way of repairing the damage. It might be best to come clean with your husband before he finds the damage.

that is under no circumstances probability-free to weld alloy wheels. Aluminium is a tricky metallic to weld and get an hermetic joint, plus there is not any make particular that the wheel is structurally sound after the fix. The repairers did you a favour with the aid of attempting to weld it, even if it has no longer labored, so so you might purchase new wheels.

sixty quid for a proper refurbishment is your only real option. Go through an established garage who will be able to recomend somewhere. this will take a while and you will have to putthe spare on in the mean time. For this you will have to fess up. Any attempt to repair it yourself will make it worse and make your husband angrier....
