She was the best of a bad lot, the talent that year was pretty scarce. She can sing (obviously) but as a package she's nothing special. She has very little charisma and her facial expressions annoy me to no end. She also makes poor fashion choices in my opinion - not that that makes her a bad person, just misguided. What were they THINKING creating the Young Divas?? They are soooooo bad!

I personally prefered the runner-up from 2005 which was Emily but they're both struggling big-time. The fact that Kate's record sales were not great and the fact that both she and Emily are now trying to make a buck in the group Young Divas (comprised entirely of idol finalists, although she was a winner herself) pretty much says that Australia really doesn't think she's all that. She used to lose the words a lot on the show and Emily got more "touchdowns" than Kate did. But the show doesn't mean bugger all when it comes to record sales. Kate seemed like a nice enough woman but I think Emily should have won. I can't prove that Emily would have made more sales but who knows?

Lee harding should have won wouldn't that give Idol a big shop

She's OK. Don't think she should have been Australia Idol last yr.
