I think it's pretty difficult not to take it for granted sometimes. You have so many things going on day to day that it can be difficult to stop and put things in perspective.
It's not usually until something tragic happens that people stop and take stock of life.

I think most people do untill something happens to give them a kick in the butt and appreciate how great it is.
I was diagnosed with Cancer 2 1/2 yrs ago, i had to have a major operation to remover a huge tumour and my right kidney or i would be 6ft under by now.
After returning to work for 6 months i saw how stupid it was to be working long hours and weekends so i quit a very good well paid job.
What's the point of working 98% of your life away just to earn money to have a better life? There's no logic in that.
Anyway, now i have my own business but only work 3 days a week max because i choose to, no weekends ever, i've travelled to 10 countries in the last 18months and quitting my old job was the best thing i've ever done.

How many? Well, take all the crack heads and multiply that # by the welfare bums, add in all the politicians and divide by the # of people who make over $10 million per year.
Those who struggle through the hard parts of life take the rest of it for granted because they're too tired from the afore mentioned struggle.

There are 10 fold more that take it for granted than those that dont.
Take for instance i cared for a guy paraplegic from the neck down, he'd been like that for 11 years. his wife was still with him and their 4 kids, and the woman still had time to do meals for the homeless in church. Now thats something special, and a person who doesn't take liberties, or things for granted. I wish there was more out there like her.

Because if we stopped and thought about life each day and all the dangers etc., we would be worrying about every little thing and not enjoying our lives. We reach points in our life when we stop and reflect and change directions. Maybe a crisis or the loss of someone we care about. We may face health or work problems then we reflect and change life to suit our new needs. Life changes all the time, so it is easier just to live it.

The young and the ill-deserved wealthy take it for granted. But life has a way of bringing almost everyone to their senses (eventually)

When you're young, being old is aaaaaaaages away. I used to take life for granted until I got divorced in my 30's, then I woke up and realised that you only get one go at it and have to make the most of it while you can.

people haven't realised how quickly a life can end, some ppl see horrific things on the news or whereever but still don't budge, they just can't see how sacred a life is, it can be changed forever in a second.Once it's over it's over there's no turning back! ppl think "oh there's so many of us" it can't be that special, or they don't evaluate it at all until something terrible happens to them directly,
sometimes it takes something truely traumatic to bring out the truth and beauty in oneself
the race is long... but in the end it's only with yourself!!!
that's not just some quote propogander crap alot of ppl believe this and recognise this, so should every1

Because most people are to wrapped up in what they are doing or what is going on to actually consider the fact that they aren't going to live forever.
They forget the fact that they will eventually die and when they do it is unexpected.
People forget about the little thing like going to see their grandma at her nursing home or keeping in touch with their parents after you get out of collage.
But that isn't good because b4 you know it life will be over.
That is why they say"live every day like it is your last."
Because you never know when it will be your last.
Hope that helps.
