A few months ago i hurt my foot around the base of my fifth metatarsal. The bruising went down and it got better.
Now it seems to stick out more at the base than on my other foot. Could I have fractured it? Stress Fracture?

The only way to know for sure is by an XRAY. I would be more likely to answer this if I knew exactly how you hurt your foot. But it seems like the answer you are looking for is that it may have been a Jones Fracture (a fracture of the base of the 5th metatarsal).

By the way: Fracture=Break; Break=Fracture: there is no difference.

From www.e-medicine.com:
* Fifth metatarsal fracture: The proximal fifth metatarsal is the most common site of midfoot fractures (Fetzer, 2006). Fractures are of 2 general types, the Jones fracture and the pseudo-Jones or tennis fracture. Midshaft and distal fifth metatarsal fractures are less common.

o Proximal avulsion fracture: Fractures at the proximal tuberosity are very common and termed pseudo-Jones or tennis fractures. This avulsion injury usually is associated with a lateral ankle strain and occurs at the attachment of the peroneus brevis tendon. It heals well with a compression dressing and weight bearing as tolerated.

o Jones fracture: This less common but more problematic fracture occurs transversely at the base of the fifth metatarsal, 1.5-3 cm distal to the proximal tuberosity. Displacement of this fracture tends to increase with continued weight bearing. Patients with this fracture often (35-50%) develop persistent nonunions requiring bone grafting and internal fixation. Initial therapy must include immobilization without weight bearing.

a few months ago did you go to take an x-ray? was there a fracture? if it was stress fracture is just that a crack on the bone...nothing broken...i guess you know that for the way your question...if you fracture it and didn't take care of it and it heal that way...it could be that's why is sticking out??
If not...got see a orthopedist Dr. :)

The only way for you to have peace of mind is to get an Xray done. Shouldn't cost too much.
